About The Pharmacy & Therapeutics Society
The Pharmacy & Therapeutics Society (PTS) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit association dedicated to serving professionals concerned with the delivery of high-quality, outcomes-oriented pharmaceutical care in all healthcare environments. Founded in 1999, the organization has grown rapidly from multiple disciplines, including physicians, pharmacists, economists, and nurses.
Our Mission
The Pharmacy & Therapeutics Society (PTS) seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and information exchange in the P&T process. We support evidence-based formulary development and implementation across all practice settings as key elements in value-based design. We evaluate best practices in P&T organization, process and outcomes, and share what we learn with all interested parties.
We provide support for the P&T process, through which our members:
- Evaluate drugs and other therapeutic interventions
- Establish and maintain formularies
- Develop clinical pathways or treatment guidelines relating to formulary decisions
- Evaluate the impact of formulary decisions on patients, professionals and institutions/organizations
- Educate P&T process participants and their stakeholders
